Ok, I missed it, on Nov. 1, I had been blogging for 4 years. From the begining, chatting about me, dating and TV, well I guess not much has changed. I was going to do a big thing about it, but having the gout and being out of it this weekend, I didn’t. But I promise I’ll post more! Look out for the 5 year anniversary!
I Love Despair.com, It always makes me laugh. I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it go check it out. It always makes me laugh. But I had an interview today and have you ever had one of those really strange interviews, where you think it went bad but you’re not sure? Well that’s what I had today. I left and was when, what the fuck was that? I was supposed to meet with three people and only me with two. And the interview it self was about 25 minutes. Which to me is strange. The third and probably the most important, couldn’t do the interview.
They scheduled it for Halloween day, and I thought that was strange, especially for 2:30 in the afternoon. I got there around 2:15, and met with them around 2:20 and was done by 2:45. I left and was like I don’t think I have a chance in hell of getting it. Well I have had some action in the job search but nothing major. I have joined an interactive marketing association here in Atlanta and also the Atlanta Executive Network, which is a gay business networking group which has been really beneficial. There are a lot of nice and helpful people. I”m really glad I joined. If you’re in the Atlanta area you should def check it out.
I hope after the election that things will pick up, and I hope it does. I”m tired of sitting here. But I am learning to use LinkedIn and Facebook better!
Well, today I went to advance votiing. And I know it’s your civic duty, but four hours to vote, I was like you have to fucking be kidding me. I got there at 10:25 and left at 2:20. Which is too damn long. And with the gout, it was a miserable time. But I voted. I will talk about this on the next podcast which I should do in the next day. Well as many of you know that I have been deadling with drama from the Death Star, or the peanut plant as I called it. Well today things got much better. I found out I do get benefits. I’m so happy. My life will be much easier. I also got a deferment for my student loan till April, so that will be money I don’t have to spend. I hope to get a job soon and end it before April. But now I can spend time devoting it to my job search and move forward. Even I can only go so bitter before I’m done.
This picture reminds me of my own lay off. I have been looking for a new job but with no luck. I haven’t even had an interview. But it’s not surprising with the job market the way it is. I also am preparing my unemployment appeal. I am going to have to do it on my own, and not sure if I’ll get it. Which makes me wonder why I went through all the stuff I did, the write up, the constant for a lack of better work harassment, and just the hell I went through. Now it seems to be all for nothing. But I guess hind sight is 20/20. I hope something turns up and everyone is saying that after the election it will turn around. Well we’ll see. I hope to do a show tonight or tomorrow. I haven’t done one in a while to look at the other blog soon!
Well, I’m looking for a job, and well there is not a lot out there. It’s just a crappy market. I’m really getting over it. There are some jobs out there, but the job canidate pool is huge too. And to top it all off, I was denied unemployment, which I am fighting. I will go more into that later. Its just every time I try to get away from my previous employer, the peanut plant, they keep drawing me back in. I want to make a break and go forward, rather then go back. Do something positive you know, I know that’s strange coming from me. But we’ll see. If you know any marketing jobs out there let me know!
In this election year, I’m watching another election, well actually two different ones. The releection of President Bartlett and President elect Santos. Yeah, I’m talking about the West Wing. I loved this show when it was on, If you go into this blog you will see posts I did while it was on the air. I have the entire series on DVD and am going to rewatch the series. So far I’m on Season one.
I will go back and watch series that I like over and over. I really miss this show. I think had they given it an 8th season with Jimmy Smits as President Santos, it would have given the show a new boost and maybe a few more seasons. But we’ll never know now.
The job front is non exsistant and having drama with unemployment, but I keep plugging away. Luckily I have a few friends who are my cheerleaders and when I get down they pick me up and I thank them very much for that every day.
I’m drained, I’ve been job hunting and nothing yet, no interviews no nothing. It’s kind of depressing you send out a ton of resumes and get no reply other then the occasional “Thanks but no thanks.” But to add insult to injury my old employer is fighting my unemployment. I”m like WTF, well I hope I get it but we’ll see. Just wanted to do a quick update
Ok, here is the new personal blog. I have had some issues moving it over. Technical one, where I had to redo the blog twice. But the best part is it copied everything from Blogger. The downside is that all the pics are still on blogger so I’ll have to go back in and change that as the weeks go by.
